Weighted Blanket Is The New Security Blanket ๐Ÿ›Œ

Weighted Blankets

Weighted Blankets

Yes, a weighted blanket (or a gravity blanket) is a blanket with extra weight. The weight is added to the blanket in the form of plastic poly pellets, steel shot beads, or micro glass beads.

The extra weight in the weighted blanket is meant to mimic a feeling of a hug and soothe you, causing a release of the good hormones - serotonin and oxytocin. This is the reason weighted blankets have become popular solutions to anxiety and insomnia, and they seem to work.

If you are interested in trying one, then Casper has some guidelines on how heavy your weighted blanket should be based on your weight.

And here are some top weighted blanket brands to check out - Bearaby (doesnโ€™t use fillers to create the weight and its blankets tend to be cooler), YNM (a more affordable option), Baloo, Nolah (if you are into chunky blankets) and Luna (a good started option).

Let me know how it goes. And happy napping!

Snail Mucin Is No Snake Oil

Wait what? Snail what? Yes, snail mucin, the slimy stuff in a snailโ€™s trail.

โ€ฆaaaand you put it on your face! ๐Ÿซข

If you are a K-beauty enthusiast then chances are you already know about this holy grail of beauty ingredient.

In the 1980s, Chilean snail farm workers began observing that their hands were softer and plumper after handling the snails. That was the beginning of the idea of using snail slime in beauty products.

Snail slime is packed with nutrients that our skin loves - hyaluronic acid for intense skin hydration, glycolic acid for stimulating collagen and antimicrobial peptides to reduce acne and treat hyperpigmentation.

Sold? Great. So snail slime, politely called snail mucin, can be applied on the face in various forms - moisturizers, serums, and under-eye masks. All skin types can benefit from snail mucin but it is especially suitable for dry skin types.

If you are up for an adventure, then here is a list of products you can start with:
