THE POWER GOODS 👠

1️⃣ Nap's Out, NSDR's In! 🚫💤

Non-Sleep-Deep-Rest (NSDR)

Non-Sleep-Deep-Rest (NSDR)

Not a fan of napping? Try Non-Sleep-Deep-Rest (NSDR) instead—it's like napping with your eyes wide open! Coined by Stanford's own Andrew D. Huberman, NSDR is a guided meditation technique that puts you in that sweet spot right before you actually fall asleep - fuzzy and semi focused. It involves visualisation techniques that focuses on your breathing and sensations in different parts of the body, scanning your body for areas of muscle tenseness.

A 10- 30 min sesh is like hitting the refresh button on your brain, leaving you sharper and more focused without ever fully checking out. if you had a rough night or you're just feeling wiped, NSDR can be a game changer—it helps you bounce back, tune up your sleep skills, and power through your day with a bit more pep. In addition, NSDR can help you get better at falling asleep and staying asleep (a weighted blanket may help with that too). Google's Sunder Pichai has been a practitioner of this.

So dive into NSDR, breathe out the stress, and energize your day 🌸

2️⃣ Brush Up On Your Skincare 🧖‍♀️

Dry Brushing /Gwyneth Paltrow / Vogue

Dry Brushing /Gwyneth Paltrow / Vogue

We know about the LED hair brush, but brushing your body? That's what dry body brushing is all about. Dry body brushing is the process of using a dry brush with natural, stiff bristles against the skin to help remove dead skin cells and stimulate circulation, BEFORE you jump into the shower. The dry aspect is crucial because it allows more pressure to be applied during the brushing process, hence more dead-skin shedding. 💀🔄

On TikTok, dry brushing is hitting viral views in the millions—everyone's brushing up on their skincare, even this 72 year old woman. 📈🧖‍♀️

This method leaves your skin smoother and softer, and also enhances the absorption of any lotions and potions that you apply afterward. Regular dry brushing can lead to a clearer, more radiant complexion and reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs. With every stroke, you are getting closer to that ‘just jogged’ glow. ☺️

To get started - opt for a brush made from natural fibers with a long handle to reach all areas of your body (we mean the back). The bristles should be firm but not too hard to avoid skin irritation. Go for Goldilocks pressure in sweeping, circular motions—not too hard, not too soft, just right. Avoid scrubbing back and forth; a smooth, gentle motion is most effective. For optimal results, dry brush a few times a week. Maybe wash it all off with a status showerhead 🚿

Ready to give your body a natural glow? Grab that brush and get started! ✨ Maybe try some snail mucin or LED face mask after that glow up sesh.

3️⃣ Check Your Phone Less 📱🚫

Tidbyt Retro Display

Tidbyt Retro Display

Do you keep checking your phone for the same thing again and again? Are you one of us? Here is a solution - Tidbyt.

It is basically a cool, retro-looking display 📺 that lets you see all the stuff you usually check on your phone, like news 📰, weather ☀️🌧️, music 🎶, sports scores 🏈⚽, and your financial info 💰, on loop. It's got its own app, where you can go and choose what you want Tidbit to show you. The whole thing is WiFi-enabled and comes in a neat walnut case that gives off a mid-century vibes. This device will not control your lights and browse the internet for you. But it is an information hub that adds style to your space.

No need to scroll through endless feeds or deal with annoying ads 🚫. Plus, if you're into coding, you can create your own apps for it!! Tidbit doesn't have a microphone 🚫🎤 or any AI features that might be snooping on you. By the way, there is Gen 2 with more enhancements - slightly better display and built in speakers.
